Chuck Loesch - Metal Supply

It's often said that good things come in small packages…but that's not always accurate. Case in point, ROXWEL.com's resident malevolent Metal guru, CHUCK.

Chiggedy-Chuck, as his close friends will often call him (at their own peril), does more than report the news and play the hits…he eats, sleeps, and breathes Metal. It's not a lifestyle, it's his LIFE. Chuck has spent the past decade spinning rock and Metal for the Austin faithful, holding down the late-night shift on KROX/101X-FM. "I plowed my way in as an intern after graduating from SWT. I spent six years there before finally they gave me a piece of paper and told me I had to make some kind of career out of what they taught me…so there I was, working the graveyard-shift and trying to stay awake."

In an effort to keep his brain from stagnating, Chuck often delved into the tech side of . "I spent time working in the engineering department, which was great fun considering I had no formal training... I have been shocked unconscious a few times, but I only twitch from time to time," he muses.

The next stage of Chuck's metal evolution was to get him out from behind the mic and in front of the camera. Enter: METAL SUPPLY. "It is a completely different animal than radio, but I had some experience behind the camera and in the editing studio, so it's not so far removed. And besides, if I didn't get off my ass and change with the times, I would wind up back behind the grill or lugging a wheelbarrow again, and I am way too out of shape for that!" he chuckles.

Chuck's infectious personality, dark humor coupled with a dry wit, and extreme knowledge of and passion for Metal music made him a natural fit to carry the torch for Roxwel.com's original Metal programming. If it's loud and proud, you'll find it on METAL SUPPLY. Chuck's recent video reviews on the program have included: Bullet For My Valentine, Every Time I Die, As I Lay Dying, and The Sword.

Outside of his Metal-minded work, Chuck keeps it real on the homefront. "I have a school-teacher wifey and an insane little girl, and together we are about as freaking crazy a bunch as you could expect. Still, I am the oddball with my weird obsession with Metal music, video games and obsessive cleaning skills, but somehow it all works," he cracks. "Oh, and I have 10 piercings, but only 5 above the waist," and then there's that big ol' laugh again. Just to remind you, it's Chuck's world…we just live in it.
